Job Description

Group Finance ManagerDuration:Temporary contract (6-12 months)Location:BirminghamHours: MondayFriday, 9am5pm, flexibility if needed, 37.5 hoursSalary:Up to £23.57 per hour (Inclusive of Holiday Pay)An opening has arisen for a Group Finance Manager for a NHS organisation.The successful candidate have experience in a similar position and be responsible for:

  • Produce monthly financial and performance management information for the Group including monthly management accounts
  • Calculate accruals, prepayments and adjustments to be reflected in the monthly management accounts and maintain a clear audit trail
  • Produce yearend financial projections to assist in the management of budgets
  • Present complex financial and performance information to the Group Management Team, other senior managers and non-finance staff
  • Work closely alongside the Group Manager in the annual financial planning process for the Group including identifying, co-ordinating and quantifying Service Developments, Cost Pressures, Cost Improvement Programmes (Cash Releasing Efficiency Savings) andCapital Bids to support the annual objectives
  • Lead the annual budget setting process
  • Support the production of business cases within the Group
  • Assist in the negotiation of SLAs with external organisations for services provided by and received by the Group to ensure that income is maximised and best value for money is achieved respectively
  • Take the financial lead on evaluation of tenders to ensure that the Group is providing best value for money
  • Ensure that there are appropriate internal controls in place within the Group to manage expenditure appropriately and reduce the risk of fraud and other losses
The successful candidate willhave:
  • Experience of working in the NHS
  • A good level of Microsoft Office Excel
