WMAHSN is looking for a Programme Manager for its Cardiovascular disease prevention and management programme, due to AHSN funding this will be offered as a 12 month fixed term contract.West Midlands Academic Health Science Network (WMAHSN) is one of 15 regional AHSNs licensed by NHS England with the purpose of spreading the adoption of innovation at scale and pace to improve health and wellbeing, and to deliver economic benefits. WMAHSN is hosted by UHB NHS Foundation NHS Trust.By catalysing partnerships between the health and care sector, academia, business and patients, citizens and the third sector, WMAHSN identifies innovations that address the health needs of the region’s population, drive down costs and attract investment and jobs into the West Midlands. Programmes of work are established to take the most attractive innovations forward to accelerate their uptake regionally, nationally and internationally.One of the AHSN’s strategic priorities is cardiovascular disease (CVD), with an emphasis on prevention, early diagnosis, management and rehabilitation. The priority encompasses programmes, projects, events and meetings involving a large and diverse range of organisations and individuals.The core requirement for the Cardiovascular Disease Programme Manager is to provide operational leadership to WMAHSN-supported CVD programmes and projects, and to lead the delivery of the programmes in partnership with the CVD Clinical Lead and advisors and support future programmes relating to the AHSN Networks CVD priority.We are looking for someone with a background in CVD who can help develop this necessary and exciting programme of work.
