Job Description

Exciting opportunity to join this highly regarded, successful manufacturing company with an expanding portfolio of products.They are looking for someone with some relevant experience in manufacturing / Quality Assurance and whilst not actually performing workshop work, will be able to influence and motivate what goes on in the workshop and its production performance. The Production Controller needs to be credible in the workshop environment but very much a manager who will be asking questions and maintaining the statistics. The role reports to Production Manager, but will also support the Directors and Sales staff as required. This is an office based role.The role is to:

  • Prepare the production planning worksheet and to attend weekly production planning meetings to plan production
  • Print the production labels and kit-up the parts ready for assembly by workshop staff
  • Distribute the production plan outputs to workshop staff so they know what is required of them each week / day / shift
  • Monitor progress and productivity and initiate action / escalation where required
  • Undertake a weekly stock check to prepare for the next round of production planning
  • Quality inspection of parts and finished products
  • Ensure Non-Conformity reports are raised on all inspection failures plus other failures in production and that Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action and Preventative Action is recorded
  • Coordinate with the General Manager to obtain additional support staff for QA as and when required
  • Produce statistical information and support various meetings and the production of reports
  • Undertake internal audits of the production environment with respect to our quality management system procedures and standards
  • They need someone who is

  • Is both a leader / influencer and able to work hands on to get things done
  • Hours / locationThe core working day is 08:30 to 04:30, Monday to Friday - Not suitable for home working.Covid: They have Risk assessments, 2m policy, twice daily cleaning, masks and visors when required.PayAround £25,000 to 30,000 plus statutory pension unless opted out.
