Job Description

My client, based in Edenbridge, Kent offer a complete transportation and exhibition handling package to exhibitors participating at events globally and due to continued growth are now seeking a Junior Project Manager to join their busy and friendly team.Due to the rural location a full driving licence and use of a car is essential.You will have some excellent administrative experience, ideally within a project based role and have the ability to manage all aspects of a project from start through to completion. Some experience within Shipping or Freight would be an advantage althoughcandidates with other industry based experience will definitely be considered as full training will be provided. You will also welcome the opportunity to work overseas on occasion.Duties

  • Handling customer enquiries efficiently
  • Liaising with customers, clients and agents
  • Costings, rate sourcing and quotations
  • Creation of Shipping and Customs documentation (B/L and Air Waybills)
  • Streamlining the process and monitoring of international shipments
  • Learning and applying Transport terms, Ports and Airport coding.
  • Arranging outward and inwards shipments by road, sea and air
  • Arranging destination customs clearance and onsite handling services
  • Checking paperwork
  • Onsite exhibition supervision both in the UK and overseas
Skills Required
  • Must be willing to travel and work abroad (sometimes for up to three weeks at a time)
  • IT literate
  • Happy to work in a seasonal and time sensitive environment requiring additional hours work to get the job done
  • Presentable and comfortable working with clients face to face on-site and in a social environment
  • Willing to work both behind a desk and outside / on-site
  • Candidates with foreign language(s) skills and an EU passport would also have an advantage although this is certainly not a deal breaker if neither apply to you.
