Job Description

Neat Painter/DecoratorFull time 37 hours- permanentSouth Yorkshire Housing Association is an award-winning housing provider and we require an experienced painter/decorator to join our Neighbourhood Environmental action Team.We are a forward thinking, values driven housing association, and the successful candidate will be working for our NEAT team out in the community in our Void properties.You will maintain the high standards expected of this team and deliver excellent customer care at all times while working to tight deadlines.   • Salary - £20,125 per annum, pro rata
  • Working hours - 37 Hours per week (Monday to Friday)
  • 27 days holiday, plus 8 bank holidays, plus 4 SYHA days connected to bank holidays
  • Driving licence is essential

More about the role:We’re looking for a Painter/Decorator to join our Neighbourhood environmental action team within the Voids team.Reporting to the NEAT Team leader you will be working within a small team or on occasion alone. You will be carrying out all aspects of painting and decorating including small repairs that are needed filling holes, removing wallpaper and any other generalduties for this role throughout our housing stock mainly within our Livewell Voids. Working to achieve a high standard of workmanship and always providing excellent customer care.Who you are:The perfect person for the role will possess the following skills and qualities
  • Have the experience and ability to carry out painting and decoration, internally and externally as required
  • Ability to solve problems and to make recommendations for painting and decorating issues
  • To provide cover for all NEAT Operatives as workload requires and be flexible in both trade and non-core trade areas of work.
  • To be responsible for the proper care of company assets (vehicles, equipment etc.) under your charge.
  • To drive company vehicles (up to transit van size) in a proper manner and to ensure that the vehicle being driven is kept clean and tidy and in road worthy condition carrying out regular inspections in line with NEAT and SYHA policies.
