As the Chemist/Chemical Engineer, reporting to the R&D Manager, you will work closely with a friendly team and be involved in a variety of R&D activities including; Lab work, formulation, real world testing, NPD/NPI, Procurement and interactions with the wider group.Client DetailsThe client is a global manufacturing business who are going through an exciting period of growth. The expansion of their manufacturing capabilities has created new opportunities to grow their R&D team and product offering.DescriptionAs the Chemist/Chemical Engineer you key areas of focus will be:Suggest, organise and executes experiments leading to new or improved productsProvide full documentation of results, creates and reviews reports that summarise data and conclusions.Perform routine and non-routine calculations including statistical data analysis.Learn how to use all lab scale equipment and related SOPs for batching, testing and quality purposes including operation of lab equipment.Prepare samples for qualitative and quantitative evaluation.Develop an understanding of product fundamentals including relationship between process, raw materials and other interactions taking place.Provides formulation assistanceCreate data reports with tables, charts, and graphs that include conclusions.Work with cross functional partners to communicate test results, status, and address questions.Identifiy and implement continuous improvement measures. Serves on project teams as needed.ProfileAs the successful candidate you will ideally be:Degree Qualified in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.Able to work independently and autonomously.A creative thinker, looking for opportunities to add value and improve process.Someone who enjoys a varied role, happy to work inside and outside the lab and as part of a team.Strong in Microsoft office applications including word and excel.Industry experience as part of your education or post education, would be a distinct advantage.Job OfferA salary of £23,000-£27,000 dependant on experience.
