Job Description

VACANCY: Assistant Management AccountantFIXED TERM CONTRACT - Until March 2022LOCATION: St. NeotsHOURS: 9.00am - 5.00pm, Monday to FridayOur Client is a leading global manufacturer of medical and scientific equipment. Their products and components have been used extensively in the biopharma, pharmaceutical, life sciences, environmental, and the food and beverage industries for over 65 years.Following some exciting changes within their business they have developed new opportunities within their teams, and are looking to introduce new colleagues who will complement the Team and company with their existing skills whilst offering the support and ongoing development of new ones where possible.Our Client proudly provides a strong culture driven environment within the workplace, with an emphasis on team focused leadership.They currently have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their busy Finance Team, based in St. Neots.The role is offered on a Fixed Term Contract until December 2021.Purpose of the Role:To produce monthly management accounts, reconciliations in depth analysis of the results and variances.Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts St. Neots site
  • Accurately maintain the Fixed Asset Register and post depreciation journal
  • Monthly accruals and prepayments
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monthly cost centre reviews
  • Prepare & submit VAT returns to HMRC
  • Weekly cash reporting
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis for the management team
  • Assist/cover other Finance roles when required.
  • Required Skills/Attributes:
  • Minimum 5 years experience and working knowledge of all aspects of a finance department
  • Able to produce monthly accounts independently
  • Professional accountancy qualification preferred
  • Intermediate IT skills on MS Office Suite
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with suppliers, customers and colleagues
  • Proven ability to work flexibly and accurately with a changing workload, and provide cover for colleagues
  • Robust ability to deal with changing work demands and foster a flexible approach within the team
  • Proactive and motivated approach to role
  • Diligent, accurate and efficient processing of tasks is essential
  • Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of the Companys products services and administrative systems, understanding what the customer requires and being able to recommend the Companys best available solutions to meet the customers needs
