Are you an experienced Process Chemist or a Process R&D Chemist I am recruiting on behalf of an award winning CRO, who specialises in drug discovery and are excited to hear from experienced Chemists, to join them at either one of their sites, based in the East Midlands.Process R&D ChemistEast MidlandsCompetitive salaryMy client has very ambitious growth plans and the PR&D function is comparatively new, so they are looking to develop their team of chemists. As a Process R&D Chemist, you will be reporting in to a Group Leader, and will have the opportunity to work on some exciting and innovative chemistry projects.Key responsibilities of the Process R&D Chemist:• Work and take ownership of synthetic projects; proactively problem solving any issues encountered. • Design chemical routes and synthesise new small drug molecules to support the scale up of early stage drugs• Exhibit a high level of analytical skill, including proficiency in non-standard techniques, using the results to intelligently drive the next iteration of experimentation• Monitor existing processes and products for quality and efficiency alongside having access to modern technology aiding monitoring of production.The ideal candidate for the Process R&D Chemist will have:• A BSc/MSc in Chemistry or a chemistry-related discipline with over 5 years of experience or a PhD with over 3 years of industrial experience in a relevant area (Pharma, Biotech or CRO) in a PR&D environment.• Experience of running analytical samples and interpreting their results, including NMR, HPLC and LC-MS • Experience of using chemical drawing packages (e.g. ChemDraw) • Experience of mining and appraising the chemical literature to formulate a synthetic strategyIf you are an experienced Process Chemist from a pharmaceutical/biotech or CRO background, who would love to join an award winning CRO, with impressive growth plans, then please apply now!
