Nursery CookLocation: Plaistow, Newham E13Salary: £13,000Contract: Part time, PermanentShifts: 9am-2pmWe are currently seeking to recruit a passionate and experienced Nursery cook to join our nursery team. We are looking for a highly motivated and collaborative individuals who will support the nursery in attaining high levels of achievement.Smarty Pants Day Nursery, rated Outstanding by Ofsted in June 2017, has been running in Plaistow, Newham for a total of 25 years. Smarty Pants at Abbey Lane Children’s Centre, rated Outstanding by Ofsted in August 2017, has been running in Stratford, Newham for a total of 10 years.We aim to provide exceptional care to children, in a rich yet challenging environment, allowing the children extensive opportunities to learn and explore.We are seeking an individual to organise, cook and prepare a healthy, balanced diet for children aged 0 to 5 years in accordance with the nursery menus.You will maintain high standards of hygiene, health and safety is maintained in the kitchen at all times.Skills/Qualifications:• To be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen• ensuring compliance with registration and legislative requirements at all times.• Responsible for the planning and preparation of food to provide meals• Ensure that all individual dietary requirements are catered for in line with parental guidance.• Maintain necessary kitchen procedures and records as required by Smarty Pants Day Nursery and Environmental Health policies.• Ensure the kitchen and equipment is kept suitably clean at all times including walls• floors and surfaces following a cleaning schedule.
