A not-for-profit company set up in 2008 to deliver high quality housing services for residents living in 21,116 homes in East London, including 9,688 leasehold homes and 11,478 tenantedhomes. In addition there are 353 Right to Buy Freeholders.Following a restructure, to strengthen their M&E contract management, an exciting opportunity has arisen for two Team Leaders to join their busy team on a permanent basis. These are brand new roles, to bridge the gap between the M&E Team Leader and theirEngineers.As a Team Leader, you will provide support and line management to engineers, as well as assisting the M&E Manager in effective contract management.About you They are looking for a highly motivated person with extensive experience in Mechanical or Electrical engineering and maintenance, providing a high quality and responsive customer focused service and ensuring value for money.They also need you to have line management or supervisory experience, with demonstrable leadership skills. Experience within housing would be a great benefit and also knowledge of NatFed Schedule of Rates and use of housing applications e.g. Northgate wouldbe a bonus.The post holder will be responsible for ensuring they provide a responsive and efficient service, through close liaison and contract management of their M&E contractors.The successful candidate, reporting to the M&E Manager, will:

  • Lead and manage a team of technical Engineers, who are responsible for delivering a range of services to residents, in accordance with Repairs Policy, their Business Plan and Repairs Team plan including (but not exclusively):
  • Provide specifications for works or scheme designs required to repair/maintain housing stock
  • Supervise contractors for repair/maintenance and major works on site, monitor and report on progress
  • Monitor the performance of contractors to ensure that works are completed in accordance with client requirements, through site meetings, site visits and supervision of works in progress
  • Carry out pre and post inspections, recommend remedial and additional work, provide quality assurance, process variations
  • Ensure full consultation and engagement with internal and external customer takes place before, during and after work as required
  • Home or site visits to pre-inspect, diagnose and specify work
  • You will be required to assist the M&E Manager in contract management of your designated contractors, including managing contract review meetings, making sure that key performance indicators relating to responsive repairs are above target
  • Developing and delivering comprehensive management information reports for senior management team
  • Development of new policy, innovation and good practice, utilising your expertise.
