Stores and Purchasing Assistant required for a temporary role in Durham. This is to start ASAP to support the Procurement & Contracts Team of this large public sector organisation.The RoleTo provide an efficient advisory service as a focal point for all users in respect of:Procurement inc. Tenders/Transport/Services/Virtual CardStationeryExternal Hire’sInsuranceMiscellaneous Services (e.g. ATM Cash Machine)To facilitate the procurement of goods and services as directed by the Procurement and Contracts ManagerEnsure the highest customer services standards are maintained and enquiries/service requests, or telephone calls, are addressed in a professional and competent manner with a variety of contacts.Ensure that the College’s policies are employed effectively within the areas of responsibility.Ensure effective implementation, maintenance and utilisation of all systems as required i.e. Ebis, Open Accounts, Heritage, Idox, In-Tend and Microsoft Applications etc.Assist in the production of reports to assist the curriculum/support staff within the organisation.Ensure accurate maintenance of designated documentation and records (e.g. requisitions/orders, special user requests and internal/external correspondence).Provide a goods inward service consisting but not limited to receipt checking, validating and storing accurate records.Arrange PAT testing as and when required.Issue stationery to all departments, ensuring stock levels and requests are managed effectively.Arrange unpacking of goods received and arrange asset tagging where appropriate in line with departmental procedures.Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all deliveries, receipt orders and arrange returns if required.Experience RequiredGCSE Maths & EnglishExperience of working in stores/purchasing environment.Strong IT skills, particularly Excel.Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to persuade and establish credibility with staff at all levels of the organisation.Ability to prioritise and work under pressure.Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.Remuneration£9.00 - £10.00 per hourThis is a temporary position and Corepeople Recruitment Limited will be acting as an employment business for the supply of temporary workers to the hirer.By applying for this job you accept the T&Cs, Privacy Policy and Disclaimers which can be found on our website.
