Job Description

Children Residential Support Worker Durham Location- £15.00 per hour We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Children Residential Support Workers. This position specifically focuses on working with children and young people who have Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).As a support worker, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for these children, promoting their well-being and assisting them in their personal and social development.Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day care and support for children and young people with EBD in a residential setting.
  • Establish positive relationships with the children, ensuring their emotional and physical needs are met.
  • Assist with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
  • Implement individual care plans and behaviour management strategies tailored to each childs needs.
  • Engage children in a range of activities, both indoor and outdoor, to encourage their personal growth, social skills, and overall development.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including incident reports, daily logs, and progress notes.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers, therapists, and teachers, to ensure a holistic approach to each childs care.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience working with children or young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) is highly desirable.
  • A compassionate and patient nature with the ability to build trust and rapport with vulnerable children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, their families, and a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage challenging behaviours, and maintain a calm and supportive approach.
  • Flexibility to work on a shift basis, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Relevant qualifications in health and social care, child care, or psychology are advantageous but not essential.
