Job Description

Job Title - Project PlannerLocation - DurhamSalary - up to £60,000 + bonus and packageClient / Project:Cobalt is currently working with a global contractor that have an excellent opportunity to join the already successful project planning team. Our client has just won a £30m new build project of an A&E department in Durham. This role provides the opportunityto support the project director and the planning team in the delivery of these projects by providing high-level planning service for the preparation of project plans, producing baseline scheduled tasks, resource profiles and financial models.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that all tenders and projects are planned to a standard meeting industry and company good practice thus reducing risk / exposure to project margins from time related issues.
  • To manage the planning, programming and progress control as an integral member of the management team, responsible for all aspects of tender and project planning, programming and progress monitoring, including information flow, procurement, and site works.
  • To liaise with clients, designers, subcontractors, suppliers and local authorities and undertakings on all matters relating to planning and programming.
  • Ensuring the production of fully integrated programmes in the format required by the customer and project team that includes design, procurement, consents, construction and commissioning.
  • Appraisal and co-ordination of subcontractors programmes and feedback to them on changing main programme information.
  • To prepare and present reports on programme and progress on all aspects of the project, and to attend and contribute to site meetings and other associated meetings.
  • Update progress and production of variance reports as required including critical path and activity count analysis with mitigation proposals.
  • Assist in the management of change in regards of impact on programmes and progress.
  • To prepare comprehensive site layouts sequences and prepare presentations as necessary (PowerPoint, Visio, Sketchup).
  • Implementation of Company procedures.
  • Working collaboratively and openly with the delivery team in the production and reporting of the programme and maintaining a good working relationship with them.
The candidateYou have HND or equivalent qualification in engineering, construction, quantity surveying or another related field. You have experience of Preparing Tender Programmes and supporting information. It is essential that you have experience of general constructionor building projects.You will be proficient in using Asta Powerproject or have a working knowledge of other planning software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Projects. You have experience on a major construction project. You can build lasting client relationships and providesupport to strong, motivated teams. You have proven relevant experience in project management or project controls environment in a similar cost role in a construction or consultancy background within the construction / infrastructure sector and be hungry togrow your career and enjoy the opportunities our client has to offer.If you feel that this is the role for you then please apply with your latest CV.
