Job Description

Job DescriptionYou will be responsible for estimating, developing manufacturing drawings and planning part and assembly manufacturing processes in a fast-paced, breakdown and small projects environment. This will include on site measuring and reverse engineering of machinedcomponents, drive system parts and fabricated steel assemblies; providing engineering advice and expertise to ensure customer requirements are met through fabrication, machining, mechanical fitting and steelwork installation solutions.Person specification

  • An in-depth understanding of metal manufacturing processes, including, but not limited to CNC/manual machining, turning, grinding, fabrication, welding, coating processes and mechanical assembly
  • Knowledge of engineering materials, stockists, and market size/length availability
  • Experienced communicator, both orally and written
  • Distinguished organisational skills and able to use personal time management tools effectively
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent 3D CAD user (Autodesk Inventor is desirable)
  • Background in ERP system software use (EPICOR is desirable)Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately estimating fabricated and machined parts and assemblies
  • Developing high quality manufacturing drawings utilising Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD software
  • Planning efficient part/assembly routings through internal and subcontract processes, such as, profiling, machining, turning, fabrication, coating and any necessary testing
  • Measuring customer requirements on site and selecting the appropriate method and tools to do so accurately
  • Engaging with the wider business units and team leaders to plan effectively to achieve customer delivery dates
  • Monitor all live jobs, ensuring material has arrived on time and that operations are completed on time
  • Selecting and purchasing appropriate materials and in the correct sizes/lengthsQualifications
  • Relevant Engineering Qualification (HNC/HND) - Essential
  • Engineering Degree (Mechanical/Manufacturing) - Desirable
  • Five GCSEs grade A-C
