Job Description

The Company:NIgel Wright are delighted to be working in partnership with a well established business with an ambition for growth.The Role:

  • The Operations Manager will manage a team of 50 across production and despatch and will be expected to undertake a fullreview of existing systems and processes to understand where efficiencies and improvements can be made in order to increase capacity and meet growth targets.
  • The business has a loyal workforce and is unionised, as such, this will provide challenges for the Operations Manager in terms of introducing new systems/processes and improvements. The Operations Manager will lead negotiations with both the unions and the employees around any changes required
  • The Operations Manager will need to establish strong relationships with both staff and the union, driving a cultural shift around accepting and embracing change
  • You will be expected to verify data capture systems to ensure the information is reliable, in order to use these metrics to drive and manage performance
  • This is a customer facing role and the incumbent will need to have the ability to influence and drive decisions
  • The Person:
  • You will be askilled Operations Manager, with prior experience of driving change, ideally within an unionised environment
  • Stakeholder engagement/strong interpersonal skills are a must as you will be internally and externally facing
  • Experience of driving cultural transformation through behaviours
  • You will have strong problem solving skills
  • Experience of taking a business through a continous improvement journey - this organisation is at the very early stages of this and therefore this will need to be a gentle approach
