Job Description

Our Client is a leading electronic manufacturing business based in the North East of England. The company currently require a talented Maintenance Engineer to join the business.Purpose of the Role:

  • As part of the Maintenance team you will ensure that all plant equipment and machinery on site is operating efficiently with the minimum amount of downtime and they are kept in safe and good working order.
  • The role will work alongside Operations, Engineering and the Production Operators with the aim of increasing productivity and quality whilst reducing costs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate preventative maintenance schedules to ensure all machinery/equipment is in good working order and liaise with Engineering regarding spare parts requirements.
  • Be responsive to emergency maintenance requirements as they arise within the business.
  • Fault find and repair any Electrical or Mechanical related problems on machinery/equipment and provide breakdown cover for all activities on site.
  • Demonstrate effective technical skills to provide high level day to day support for all manufacturing operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities across on-site equipment and facilities.
  • Liaise with purchasing to provide information needed to procure spares
  • Advise on specification of new manufacturing equipment ensuring feasibility of servicing and maintenance. Install, modify & maintain all machinery/equipment across the site.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety Policies are adhered to, legally bound to make sure all guarding is functioning correctly.
  • Monitor all machines and ancillary plant during production (whilst maintaining notes and relevant log sheets, machine history)
  • Ensure that any rectification is followed through to a satisfactory conclusion by effective communication and back to production checks
  • To ensure that prior to carrying out any intended work the relevant Departmental
  • Ensure that any specific permits required to carry out any work is obtained before proceeding to work.
  • Carry out any repair or maintenance work ensuring good engineering hygiene is adopted.
  • Operate as an effective team member using excellent communication to support handovers between shifts and share information.
  • Complete accurate and timely records/documents required to log information.
  • Use appraisals meetings with Manager to identify opportunities to train and develop to gain extra skills.
  • Plan workload and seek opportunity to complete set personal objectives.
  • Provide a detailed handover to the next shift ensuring all relevant information is passed on and understood.
Skills Required:
  • Demonstrable experience in a manufacturing/production environment in a maintenance role
  • Demonstrable hands on approach to supporting an operation through fault finding, diagnosis, repair and analysis
  • Strong set of engineering skills in multi-skilled maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting and design
  • Knowledge and proficient use of IT Systems
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation - Health and Safety at Work Act, Provision and
  • Experience on electrical machine control fault finding and PLC fault finding experience
  • Ability to understand complex drawings and process flows.
  • Ability to interact with both internal and external customers.
  • Related experience, technical knowledge and/or training within the maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of assembly and cleanroom operations
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build working relationships within organization
  • Educated to HNC level or equivalent in Engineering Field
  • Multi skilled
  • IEE 18th Edition Certificate
  • Robotics and automation experience
  • Automated/laser welding experience
  • Cleanroom experience of high vacuum tools
Salary:
  • £32000 plus a comprehensive benefits package
