Job Description

We are a high performing organisation with a track record of success.This substantive Band 7 post offers an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Nurse to work within Specialist Palliative Care in an Acute based Macmillan Nursing team based at the University Hospital of North Durham. The post holder will provide Specialist Palliative care to patients, families and other health professionals.The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject and experience in palliative care. Appointment to Band 7 will depend on qualifications; knowledge and experience (see person specifications for full details).With significant post registration experience including recent experience in palliative care you will have excellent communication and leadership skills and will be committed to developing practice. Working collaboratively as part of a team and building effective relationships with colleagues, you must also be able to work on your own initiative.The post holder will also need to be able to prioritise and work to deadlines without compromising quality of care.Appropriate support and development for the successful applicant will be negotiated on an individual basis.Contacts:-Suzanne Vickers Matron
