Looking to step away from child protection teamCan you build positive relationships with young people age 14 and olderLook no further, Medicare has the role for you! Medicare First is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated social worker towork full time working within the Looked After Children Teams in Darlington. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in childrens services and be registered with the SWE.Duties include: You will needto be able to encourage, support and engage with children, young people, parents and carers to promote participation in all aspects of service delivery . You will have the ability to place the child/young person at the centre of all practice and decision making;knowledge & skills in identifying and implementing appropriate plans for children & young people; an understanding of child development; an understanding of the role and importance of policies and procedures; an understanding of and ability to apply relevantlegislation and guidance. You will be able to demonstrate working with others and behaving in a way that respects the rights of others whilst taking into account their needs. You will have experience of working in a statutory children and families social caresetting in either safeguarding and/or working with looked after children & young people. Experience in assessment and analytical report writing is also essential.
