Job Description

We are searching for a experienced Functional Skills (English, Maths and Employability) Tutors to take on a fantastic opportunity teaching in one of the prisons we are supporting. If you are passionate about this subject specialism and are looking for anew, challenging opportunity, this is the perfect role for you!Role Details:

  • Full Time
  • Working hours 8am- 5pm
  • £24072- £29358 based on experience and qualifications
  • 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

They fulfil the Groups social mission by providing the learning, skills and opportunity that offenders need to build positivefutures for themselves, their families, and our communities.Role Responsibilities:
  • Within a Scheme of Work, develop lesson plans to ensure compliance with curriculum best practice and quality targets
  • Contribute to curriculum development
  • Ensure the safeguarding of learners
  • Ensure that learner records are accurate and maintained in line with data protection and policies.
  • Delivery of high quality learning experiences
  • Participate in continual professional development activities to ensure skills and qualifications are in line with sector best practice and third party requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, working practice and prison security requirements
  • Contributing to third party reporting procedures
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Must have a teaching qualification or subject specialist qualification at Level 3 with a commitment to obtain the relevant outstanding Level 3 qualification within a specified time scale
  • Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy or be willing to commit to gaining the qualification(s) within 1 year
  • Track record of effective teaching in relevant subject specialism
  • Gain, hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
