Job Description

CompanyEdward Reed Recruitment are supporting a multi-national consumer goods company in their recruitment of a Supply Chain Coordinator to join their established team based from their County Durham office. Our client offers a hybrid working pattern, with 3 mandatedoffice days per week.RoleIn this role of Supply Chain Coordinator/Demand Planner you will contribute to the achievement of delivering market leading products and service efficiently and effectively at all levels. This role will be based in the UK with responsibility for a portfolioof brands in their European business.Reporting to the Group Head of Demand, you will be responsible for providing effective and efficient management of your allocated products in their inventory holding, customer satisfaction (fill rate) and forecast accuracy.Roles and responsibilities:

  • Demand forecasting - Identify any changes to the trend in average or period sales, ensuring variances are quickly and correctly identified and that appropriate action is taken to ensure acceptable levels of stock holding are in place to achieve both serviceand inventory value targets for all group businesses.
  • The generation of new item demand forecasts, considering available internal business and external market information, as well as the current trends on comparable products.
  • Work closely with the Brand Managers and Sales teams to identify the stock requirements for promotions and predicted changes in market demand.
  • Identify obsolete, slow moving and excess stock items and work with the Brand Managers to ensure effective reduction of these in line with stated targets.
  • Identify, review and mitigate the impact of surplus inventory on order as the result of forecast change.

You will be extremely organised, be deadline focussed and have a keen eye for detail.Essential:Previous experience within a comparable role ~ Strong analytical skills ~ Detailed knowledge of demand planning and forecasting processes ~ Excellent proficiency in the use of office products (predominantly Excel) ~ The ability to work to strict deadlinesand with a high attention to detail ~ The ability to effectively prioritise own workload.Desirable:Experience in working with demand planning software tools (such as Sage Inventory Advisor) ~ Experience in working within a continuous improvement framework ~ Experience in using root cause analysis to safely control and countermeasure problems
