Job Description

As our clients Smart Programme gathers pace, our client is currently expanding their core delivery team and would like to on-boarding an additional Business Analyst with Project Management experience to support us in the delivery of our Technology Workstream.Location: Hybrid with trips to Durham once/twice per weekRates: Competitive Day RateContract: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)Duration: 6 Months plusJob Details in Brief:This role is to take the lead in piloting an improved measurement process for per capita consumption (PCC). Initially this will involve analysis of the current state, how we currently measure and report PCC and the challenges this presents. You will thengo on to identify a solution which mitigates the challenges most likely in the form of installing pockets of smart meters across our 3 regions. Working with the companies procurement team, you will need to define the requirements to make this happen to supportthe clients procurement of this service. You will then manage the project through to delivery i.e. contract, installation, operation of meters and the supporting management and business information to report PCC effectively.Accountabilities:

  • Successfully gathering detailed functional and non-functional requirements from the business
  • Validating the benefits associated with the requirement via a Business Case where appropriate
  • Support with delivering key procurement activities, resulting in timely and effective contract awards
  • Identifying, developing, and supporting business process change
  • Participating in all relevant Programme meetings such as supplier calls, transformation planning, progress updates and retrospectives
  • Involvement in competitor analysis and market value proposition
  • Continuous improvement across the team, the BA community and wider organisation
  • Developing good working relationships with customers across the business
  • Compliance with all pertinent company wide and IS Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the companys information in keeping with the clients Security Policy and Procedures
Essential Experience Required:
  • Significant experience in business analysis, defining requirements for complex business change
  • Experience in delivering small change projects and delivering procurement activities
  • Experience of understanding complex technical concepts and presenting them in simple terms to non-technical team members and clients
  • Extensive stakeholder management to senior management level
  • Experience of system and business process analysis
  • Interacting with internal and external customers
  • Developing and delivering supporting business processes
  • Experience of working with external suppliers
  • Experience in modelling techniques and undertaking gap analysis
  • Experience in utilities, specifically Smart Metering preferable
An Advantage:
  • Working with Agile and Waterfall practices and associated skills including user story writing and process mapping
  • A broad understanding of the utility industry and external factors that can influence including political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental issues
  • Good understanding of product management principles
  • Working with remote/offshore software development teams
  • Experience in water advantageous
  • Exposure to workforce and metering related projects including workforce management, installation & commissioning would be advantageous
  • Exposure to customer services related projects including customer management, data management, exception management and billing would be advantageous
