Job Description

Our Estates Management team have seen a vast amount of growth in 2021-2022 and we are now looking for a Senior Surveyor to join our market leading Telecoms Team in Northern Ireland.Our Telecoms Team is circa 30 people strong, spread across 5 offices in the UK, including our friendly team in Belfast. We work on behalf of a variety of corporate clients, delivering advice on mobile and fibre networks.This role will suit you if youre seeking a new challenge to apply your existing skills as a Chartered Surveyor to a new industry.You will be working within a dynamic and well-established team and will benefit from being part of our invaluable Training Academy. You will receive regular advice on progression and ongoing support, to enable you to develop your career for the long-termwith us here at Dalcour Maclaren.Salary starts at £38,000 including Car Allowance plus many other benefits including health insurance and a discretionary annual bonus of up to 10% of your salary!As a Senior Surveyor you will:

  • Be working on behalf of one of the UKs largest asset managers to deliver lease renewals on their telecoms portfolio throughout the UK and Northern Ireland
  • Be working within a large client team delivering and managing your own caseload, recommending the best course of action to the client and achieving project deliverables within set timescales
  • Deliver a range of tasks and/or schemes, to a high standard; using initiative and a proactive approach to ensure client deadlines and objectives are met, taking pride and ownership in the quality of work delivered
  • Develop strong working relationships with client personnel, internal and external stakeholders including contractors, consultants, landowners and occupiers, holding professional conversations, managing expectations and discussing feedback to improve thelevel of service provided
  • Support the development of more junior members of staff when required and, if applicable, develop line management skills and provide constructive line management to own direct reports, engaging in regular progress review and feedback meetings and delegatingtasks effectively
  • Share own experience to support the development of people in the wider organisation whilst maintaining and improving your knowledge and skills through specialist CPD
  • Participate in and support company groups, initiatives, events and social activities and embrace DMs values, engendering a positive attitude within the workplace
The successful candidate will:
  • Have between 3 and 5 years post-RICS qualification experience
  • Have a broad experience of estate management
  • Be an experienced negotiator from initial contact through to completion
  • Hold an understanding of disputes and litigation
  • Possess hands-on track record for delivering estates transactions including lease renewals, freehold acquisitions, open market rent reviews and assignments
  • Have practical valuation experience, with knowledge of the RICS Red Book being beneficial
  • Have an understanding of Commerciality
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of The Landlord & Tenant Act 1954 and/or Business Tenancies NI Order 1996
  • Have an understanding of the Electronic Communications Code (preferable but not essential)
