REED Accountancy & Finance are working closely with a well known and reputable client in the outskirts of Belfast and are actively recruiting for a Payments Clerk to join their large team.This is an exciting opportunity offering job security and excellent company benefits.The Role:Reporting to the Payments Manager, the post holder will have a good knowledge of the purchase ledger function and will be responsible for the prompt payment of purchase invoices ensuring all payments are made within credit terms.Specific duties will involve:Select/deselect purchase invoices due for payment. Checking that all payments are made within credit termsReconciliation of payment to creditors statementPreparing of remittance advices for cheques/bacs payments attaching invoices/statements to cheques for signaturePosting of paid cheques/ Bacs to creditors ledgerPreparation of sundry cheque paymentsDistribution of cheques to suppliersDealing with suppliers queriesGeneral office tasks including filing, photocopying, dealing with telephone queriesKnowledge of Coins computerised system would be an advantageWhilst not essential, knowledge of sub-contractors CIS/RCT would be an advantageThe Person:Applicants will have previous purchase ledger experience and will be organised, efficient and capable of meeting deadlinesApplicants will have previous construction industry experience (preferred)Applicants will have excellent communication skills and the ability to resolve outstanding queriesThe Benefits:Contributory pensions plan up to 6%Health Shield enrolment after 3 months service (dental cover included)34 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays)Enhanced Maternity & Family friendly policiesHybrid working (3 days on site 2 from home)Please get in touch with Lizzy Lyons on and email an up to date cv to
