The Fife Area-Wide Psychology Service is a large (95 wte) service comprising a range of clinical and health specialties, with extensive involvement in training, research and service development. Close links with Edinburgh, Stirling, Dundee and St. Andrews Universities’ D. Clin.Psych and MSc courses continue and your professional development, CPD and research initiatives will be well supported.You will join a dynamic, well-established, supportive Clinical Health Psychology team, which includes Clinical Psychologists, Health Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists. The Clinical Health specialty consists of posts which are embedded within multidisciplinary medical teams across the areas of Pain Management, Adult Weight Management, Rheumatology, Blood Born Virus, Oncology, Intensive Care, Major Physical Trauma and a General Medical Service which takes referrals for a wide range of other medical conditions. Due to Covid-19 clinical work is currently conducted remotely using “Near Me” technology and telephone contact with patients in most cases, but under normal would be face to face in community based clinics across Fife and the two main hospitals located in Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy. The full range of clinical presentations/complexity is represented and there are opportunities for group work via digital delivery, teaching and training and partnership work with other agencies.You will provide specialist clinical assessment, treatment and consultancy. You will also contribute to the evaluation of the service, and to the development of evidence based practice. You should have expertise in delivering effective psychological interventions relating to a wide range of physical health problems and psychological aspects of chronic disease management. We have sessions available within the Adult Weight Management Service (0.5wte) delivering aspects of the tier 3 and tier 4 weight management services. The post holder will also have responsibility for the supervision of a Health Psychologist who also works in the weight Management Service.
