Job Description

Community Facilities Technician - Competitive Salary - East DunbartonshireThe RoleAre you IT literate and capable of working with minimum supervision Do you have a full driving license and the ability to travel to different school sites within the local authority area If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.SPIE UK, a smart engineering and technology-driven solutions provider for the built environment, are looking to appoint a Community Facilities Technician to ensure that authorised community users of the facilities are given supervised access/egress to thebuildings and are monitored to ensure correct use of the facilities and equipment. You will also provide support to other Facilities staff such as providing assistance with Planned and Reactive Maintenance tasks and undertaking semi-skilled tasks where appropriate.This is a term time position covering community use in the evenings and on SaturdaysKey Responsibilities The key responsibilities of a Community Facilities Technician include, but are not limited to:

  • Comply with Company procedures.
  • Open and close the school in accordance with required school occupancy times.
  • Ensure all visitors sign in and out of site.
  • Provide supervision and access control at the main entrance.
  • Supervise community users to ensure correct use of facilities and equipment.
  • Undertake checks of the areas being let and report any defects such as damages to the building fabric, ceiling tiles, wall and floor finishes and equipment being used etc.
  • Issue and update reports to the SPIE Help Desk where required.
  • Supervise and control sub-contractors.
  • Ensure Site Induction has been carried out if personnel are new to site.
  • Ensure sub-contractors remove all generated waste from site and leave work area clean and tidy.
  • Ensure work is carried out to a satisfactory standard before signing Field Report.
  • Ensure Reporting Log is updated and sent to Help Desk with Field Report (if available).
  • To be flexible and cover all schools as and when required if necessary.
  • To assist with PPMs (including fire testing etc).
  • Support/liaise with Facilities Technicians when required to ensure any outstanding tasks are complete.

  • Capable of working with minimum supervision.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to various schools within the local authority area.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and react to financial penalties.
  • IT literate.
