Job Description

This role will assist in the development and execution of the global category strategy and associated sourcing activity. The role will leverage the company global scale to maximise the value derived from procurement and manage the global business relationshipswith key category suppliers.Client DetailsA global organisation going through a huge period of growthDescriptionSupport the category strategy and planning activity for key categoriesProvide analysis, category and supply market expertise and knowledge to develop sourcing opportunities / projects for implementation.Analysis and interpretation of spend data to inform category planning and sourcing strategy development.Manage relationship with the Business Units to ensure that the strategy reflects their ability to fulfil requirements and drive compliance.Provide a business partner role to key stakeholders within the named category, facilitating the S2C process for all spend above threshold within the category and providing an advisory role to the business for any spend below threshold (where appropriate).Deliver discrete sourcing projects, managing the sourcing activity, taking responsibility for the development and approval of sourcing strategies, market testing, negotiation and contract award.Drive common standards across vendors to ensure comparability of supplier equipment within the category.Make recommendations on balancing pricing, equipment diversity, process standardisation opportunities and longer term supplier relationships for the categories.Proactive management of relationships with suppliers following the SRM policy to manage the commercial and operational performance and identify opportunities for innovation, growth and cost reduction to drive additional value.Meet savings targets and continually push to exceed expectations while ensuring commercial perspectiveResponsible for maintaining and administering the contract database and contractsProfile

  • Experienced in procurement of goods and services
  • Experience of Power Generation and/or CapEx procurement is desirable.
  • Good understanding of commercial contracts (including key legal clauses)
  • Understanding of supplier dynamics and marketplaces.
  • Proven record of managing supplier performance.
  • Good understanding of how to manipulate and analyse data, with an understanding of typical Procurement levers they can pull to drive greater value and cost out
  • Good negotiation and supplier relationship management skills (including advanced contract terms knowledge i.e. payment terms, guarantees, insurances, liabilities etc.)
