Job Description

Trainee Technician Dudley AreaPermanentSalary: £20,000 - £25,000 Per Annum (Based on Experience)Do you have a qualification in General Engineering or relevant experienceDo you want to secure a permanent positionWould you like to work with an inclusive employer that takes you on a journey with themIf the answers to these three questions are yes.... please read on;Our client based in the Dudley area are currently seeking a Production Setter/Operator to join them on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will undertake an intensive training program with the possibility of undertaking further studies and gainingnationally recognised qualifications and accreditations.Role responsibilities:

  • To operate across various departments through multi-skill training, learning all areas of production with a view to potential role and progression/development.
  • Be trained in setting and operating a range of machines in a specialised production facility for the manufacture of very bespoke products
  • Apply measurement and inspection techniques to include the use of measuring equipment such as a micrometer
  • Interpret requirements in the form of tolerances and specifications to ensure products conform to customer needs
  • Work with other members of production, quality and technical to solve production-based issues and work together to find solutions.
  • Report writing and use of data to understand machine issues
  • Undertake other duties as required
The Successful person will:
  • Possess proven experience in engineering, either from an engineering apprenticeship, other engineering biased qualification or relevant experience
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and specifications
  • Understanding of quality systems and issues associated with product standards
  • Excellent communication skills, with a good command of the English Language, both written and verbal
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to prioritise, with an excellent eye for detail
  • Possess an understanding of empathy with others and have excellent interpersonal skills being able to work well both with others and also independently
Hours of Work:Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pmFriday: 8:00am - 4:00pmBenefits:
