Technical Support AssistantDudley£26,000 - £30,000 p.a.

The Company:ER Recruitment are very excited to be working with our client based in Dudley, who are now looking to recruit an experienced, dynamic Technical Support Assistant with a proactive attitude to driving exceptional customer service.Role & Responsibilities of the Technical Support Assistant:
  • Support all levels of IT services, including:
o Microsoft Exchangeo Active Directory and Group Policy Managemento Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019o Office 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Teamso Windows 7 to 10
  • Maintaining internal and external network infrastructures.
  • Resolve 2nd Line Support Issues and potentially 3rd Line Issues. Escalate IT issues to the IT Manager where required
  • Implement and enforce best-practice network and security policies throughout.
  • Maintenance tasks i.e. reviewing backups and patching systems.
  • Liaise with 3rd party vendors and support providers (HP, Dell, Microsoft, and Lenovo).
  • Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools, and all hardware when required
About You as the Technical Support Assistant:
  • Previous experience in a 2nd/3rd line IT support role
  • Experience with managed IT services and virtual network infrastructures
  • Problem-solving, multitasking and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service
  • Confident presentation and rapport skills
  • An ability to identify service improvement opportunities
You must be qualified and confident in the following:
  • Windows 7/10
  • Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019
  • Virtualisation Hyper-V or VMWare
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Microsoft Azure Cloud, Azure AD Connect
  • Microsoft Exchange 2013/2016
  • Active Directory and Group Policy management
  • Installation and configuration of hardware and software
  • ITIL Awareness
  • Firewalls (SonicWALL, DreyTek, Cisco)
  • Anti-Virus (Trend Micro, AVG, Sophos)
  • Backup technologies (Backup Exec, ARCserve, Azure Backup Cloud Backup)
  • Networking skills covering switching, routing and firewalls (TCP/IP, DHCP, WINS, DNS, VPN)
  • Familiar with SolarWinds N-Able Tools
  • Experience of Dynamics 365 or SQL Server would be a definite advantage
