Job Description

RSR is a public safety & enterprise security recruitment specialist. We assist public safety employers find the right talent. We assist all employers when they want to source public safety and enterprise security skills and experience.RSR Justice are currently recruiting for a Sexual Violence Prevention Worker to identify and support vulnerable sex workers/ victims of sexual exploitation, violence abuse, violence and sexual coercion within Sandwell and Dudley.This is full time, permanent role and offers a salary of £26,820.59 - £28,429.Travel across Dudley and Sandwell is required so full driving license and access to own vehicle is essential.Main Duties:

  • Identify premises and locations of sex work using a variety of methods including online research, engage and build trust with women and provide support that is trauma informed and women-led.
  • Receive referrals from a variety of agencies where they identify women at risk as well as direct referrals from women who want to explore support and assistance.
  • Conduct risk-assessed visits to indoor venues such as sex work premises, brothels in line with safety procedures and identify patterns or trends of potential exploitation as part of intelligence gathering.
  • Manage a caseload where risk assessments and support plans are developed with women and at a pace that is suitable for them.
  • Engage with sex workers, building confidence and trust sharing vital information that will assist them in keeping themselves safe.
  • Maintain regular contact with women ensuring health and wellbeing, safety, identifying changes and risks providing evidence based interventions for support.
  • Support women report to the police and ensure that she is familiar with the process and expectations. Work with women to ensure access to legal advice and guidance and where necessary support her through all criminal justice processes.
  • Assist victims/survivors to make informed choices ensuring they understand their human rights, legal entitlements and other support services available e.g. National referral Mechanism.
  • Respond to disclosures of other forms of abuse such as domestic violence, stalking, historic abuse linking with other client services/ specialist services in the region.
  • Report adult and child safeguarding concerns working with women and relevant agencies to protect and keep her, and her family safe.
  • Develop networks engaging with partners and communities to build awareness, deliver training of the issues facing women involved in sex work.
Essential Requirements:
  • Degree or equivalent level qualifications, (or experience demonstrating equivalence) in a related field.
  • Experience of working with sex workers.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable people including women with complex needs, victims of sexual violence/exploitation or women in the criminal justice system.
  • An ISVA training certificate, an IDVA training certificate, or demonstrable equivalent experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge of sex work and sexual exploitation.
  • Have knowledge and experience of applying health and safety, GDPR compliance and management.
  • Knowledge of the Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy and the gendered nature of violence.
