Job Description

Cordant People is currently recruiting for a Restoration Technician for our client in Worcester and Dudley area. This is a full-time, permanent position.About the CompanyPolygon is the European market leader in property damage restoration, serving a range of sectors including insurance, property management, government and industrial clients. This is a varied role however main duties and responsibilities are:

  • Responding to emergency work quickly and efficiently within time-frame
  • Assessing damaged properties and its contents
  • Cleaning and sanitising properties after flood, fire or damage caused by natural disasters
  • Removing, stripping and replacing damaged materials e.g. wallboards, carpets
  • Drying and restoring of domestic and commercial items and installing new equipment
  • Liaising with the insurance company confirming the damage and the required works
  • Managing follow-up visits where necessary
  • Holding the emergency call bleeper for 1 week in every 9 weeks
    • The CandidateThe successful candidate:
  • Has a full, clean driving licence
  • Will be able to work as a part of a team as well as independently
  • Has good customer focus and business awareness (e.g. job value, profit and loss)
  • Has strong communication skills, confident yet empathetic with customers who experienced the loss
  • Has basic knowledge of building and construction work and has good knowledge of health and safety
  • Has excellent planning and organizational skills with good numeracy and literacy skills

    • The Benefits
  • Working hours are Mon-Fri 8am-5pm with occasional overtime available
  • £22,000 per annum basic salary, increasing to £23,000 per annum after 6-month probation and successfully completing all training modules
  • Out-of-hours pay when holding the bleeper and attending door to door emergency calls
  • 24 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Early finish on Fridays
