We ensure that the revolutionary story of the Black Countrys industrial landscapethe first ever of its kind in theUKis celebrated by generations.With our bostin seasonal, themed and high profile events, as well as being regularly used for TV and Film locations, BCLM is one of Europes most successful open-air museums.We are currently embarking upon our largest development ever, Forging Ahead, with a £multi-million investment bringing our story into the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s.Based in the heart of the Black Countrys regeneration zone, we are within good commutable distance from many of the surrounding counties.About the roleAs Programme Manager you will lead the development and manage the delivery of a brand new Little Makers programme. Creating an innovative and inspiring key stage one programme which draws on the innovation of the Black Countrys history, supporting childrento develop their creative skills and potential through hands-on industry-inspired making. It will be co-designed with local teachers, support cross-curricular learning and delivered as an in school session and a follow-up Museum visit. Aiming to engage 10,000pupils across a three year period, the role of Little Makers Programme Manager is an exciting opportunity to develop and deliver long lasting impact for Black Country children.Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the development and co-ordination of the Little Makers project: leading project teams,
  • setting key milestones and meeting deadlines, managing budget and resource, collaborating with colleagues, and evaluation and reporting
  • Collaborating with colleagues from across the Museum, as well as external partners, to ensure the programme meets its targets and outcomes
  • Initiating and lead a co-development panel of local Key Stage one teachers
  • Develop content and resources for pre and post visit activities along with supporting materials for participating teachers
  • Share learning from the programme through the development and delivery of training for both the Little Makers team and wider organisation
About youTo be successful in this role, you will have:
  • A creative skill set that allows you to form innovative ideas, leading to a tangible programme
  • Experience of developing and delivering formal learning programmespreferably key stage one
  • Excellent communication, collaborative and influencing skills
  • Experience of working with external partners to develop ideas and deliver tangible outputs
  • Strong project management experience including planning, resource and budget management and evaluation and a proven record of delivering high quality results on time
  • Experience of managing a motivated and high performing team
