Job Description

Role: Financial ControllerLocation: Dudley - Office basedType: 12 Month Fixed Term ContractSalary: £44k to £56kSellick Partnership are currently looking to recruit to a Financial Controller for our Public Sector client based in Dudley on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.Job Purpose:

  • To assist the Head of Finance in developing and implementing financial strategies
  • Responsible for financial viability and long-term sustainability
  • Support the Head of Finance in promoting excellent financial management and internal control as well as ensuring continuous improvement and the effective and efficient delivery of all finance services
Key responsibilities for the Financial Controller:
  • Preparing annual financial statements
  • Responsibility for timely and accurate returns to funding bodies
  • Producing daily/monthly/annual cash flow reports
  • Producing timely and accurate management accounts
  • Responsible for all monthly and annual close down processes
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Assist the Head of Finance in the production of financial information including plans, forecasts, budgets and monthly reports to managers and the Corporation to inform decision making
  • Act as a key contact with the colleges internal and external auditors
  • Assist in managing the three-year financial forecast and annual budget setting process
Person specification for the Financial Controller:
  • Qualified/Finalist accountant status is desirable but not essential
  • Experience of producing month and year-end accounts and financial statements
  • Budget Management experience
  • Experience of successfully managing detailed cash flow
