Job Description

About the BusinessWe are a dynamic property business with a proven track record of innovation and excellence. We are seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join our team and play a crucial role in our continued growth and success.Job OverviewIn this multifaceted position, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts, annual statutory accounts, and tax returns. You will also provide support to the Financial Controller and Financial Director,and collaborate closely with other members of the finance team to ensure that all financial processes operate smoothly and efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesMonthly Financial Accounts Preparation:

  • Produce a comprehensive monthly financial accounts package for each trading subsidiary, including a profit and loss statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
  • Take complete ownership of all financial figures within your assigned portfolio of subsidiaries.
  • Thoroughly review the work of property accountants, management accountants, and transaction teams, promptly investigating any discrepancies.
  • Compile a detailed variance report with accompanying commentary, capital expenditure reporting, and bad debt review.
Financial Reporting and Support:
  • Assist the group financial accountant in preparing month-end management reports for review by UK and Group Finance Directors.
  • Monitor AP/AR ledgers and ensure their effective administration.
  • Complete and submit VAT returns accurately and efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain accurate cash forecasts.
  • Prepare quarterly covenant bank reporting, including financial accounts extracted from the above, covenants, ratio analysis, and any other reporting required by the bank.
  • Liaise with asset managers to ensure compliance with all banking consent requirements.
Year-End Financial Statements and Taxation:
  • Prepare year-end financial statements at the subsidiary level.
  • Compile comprehensive year-end audit packs and liaise effectively with external auditors.
  • Organize tax packs and maintain open communication with tax advisors.
  • Conduct a thorough review of annual tax computations.
  • Prepare accounts for timely submission to HMRC.
  • Collaborate with tax advisors to ensure prompt and effective responses to HMRC enquiries.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the management of the treasury, including foreign accounts.
  • Provide support to the FP&A team as required.
  • Undertake any ad hoc analysis/projects as needed.

  • Qualified or in the process of qualifying for a professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, etc.)
