Job Description

We are partnering with a Not-for-Profit in Dudley to recruit a Finance Manager. This role is for an initial 6 months FTC paying £50,000 - £60,000 per annum.This Not-for-Profit based in the Dudley area is c£30m t/o with 650 employees. Their offices are close to local train and bus routes. They also offer free parking on-site.Finance Manager:

  • Manage a team of 5.
  • Production of SORP compliant annual financial statements.
  • Administration of the insurance, investments and all bank accounts.
  • Lead on annual audit and on audit provision for both internal and external audit.
  • Analytical reviews of the balance sheet including review of journals.
  • Balance sheet and supplier account reconciliations.
  • Management of bad debt.
  • Management of restricted, designated reserves
  • Responsible for all payrolls plus pay modelling.
  • Work with the Head of Finance to ensure all budgets are agreed and implemented in the accounting system.
  • Administration of charity-wide credit card accounts.
  • Cash flow reporting and production of rolling cash flow forecasts for the charity.
  • Tax management including the VAT return.
  • Management of the accounting ledgers plus the interface with payroll and asset management.
  • Production of KPIs in relation to balance sheet and cash.
  • Proactively and continuously improve processes and systems (GDPR Compliant).
  • Various ad hoc tasks/projects to support the finance function.
Finance Manager:
  • It is essential you are fully qualified in ACA, ACCA, CIMA/CGMA, CIPFA or equivalent.
  • Experience of preparation of annual accounts in line with Charity Accounts & SORP.
  • Knowledge & understanding of internal controls & core accounting systems and processes.
  • Exposure of cash flow forecasting & monitoring.
  • Treasury management experience is desirable.
  • Highly numerate and analytical with a keen eye for detail that is deadline focused and goal orientated.
  • Good organisation skills & methodical with good time management skills, used to delivering to tight timetables.
  • Able to build relationships at all levels within the charity, including finance professionals and senior management.
  • Ability to evidence effective use of own judgement & work proactively while unsupervised.
  • Prepared to roll up sleeves & pitch in to carry other administrative tasks.
  • Excellent Excel spreadsheet modelling.
