The Big PictureMy client is currently recruiting for a Functional Skills Tutor to join their team. This is a home based role, based in the Midlands for a West Midlands based Training Provider for the Engineering and Manufacturing Industry offering training courses and apprenticeships.Main Job Role• To deliver effective Functional Skills - Maths and English teaching• Preparing resources and training materials for teaching sessions• Marking work and giving effective, developmental feedback for learners• Developing high quality standard teaching materials• Delivering teaching which ensures best possible learner outcomes• Supporting vocational staff with embedding Functional Skills into learning programmes• Providing learning support to apprentices with ALS needs• Invigilating examinations (paper and online) at client sites• Maintaining learner records and tracking learner progressKnowledge and Qualification RequirementsEssential:• Able to pass basic DBS check• Level 3 (minimum) teaching qualification• Level 3 qualification in Maths, English or ESOL• Minimum of 5 year’s teaching experience• Knowledge of Functional Skills curricula• Proven track record of Functional Skills workplace training• Competent using MS-Office suite and Outlook• Knowledge of using online initial/diagnostic assessment learning platforms to track learners (ie - Forskills/Skills Forward)• To be willing to and have the ability to travel to customer sites• To hold a full UK driving licence and adequate insurance that includes business use• To be able to stay away from home over night when required• To participate and record own continuing professional developmentDesirable:• Experience of working with ESOL learners• Experience of teaching learners with specific learning difficultiesWhat’s in it for youSalary - Up to 28K Required skills
