Job Description

Walters People have partnered with a leading business based in Kingswinford who are looking for Credit Controller on a permanent basis. The role would best suit a confident individual who can work independently, demonstrating a high level of initiative,paying up to £25,000 based on experience.Walters People have partnered with a leading business based in Kingswinford who are looking for Credit Controller on a permanent basis. The role would best suit a confident individual who can work independently, demonstrating a high level of initiative,paying up to £25,000 based on experience.Key Responsibilities as the Credit Controller:

  • Cashing outstanding monies.
  • Working with internal departments to understand any issues.
  • Chasing payments via phone or letter.
  • Maintaining the sales ledger.
  • Allocating cash.
  • Create actions plans to resolve outstanding payments
  • Ad-hoc duties
  • Chasing debtors
  • Dealing with queries
  • Managing the outstanding payments list
  • Reconciling invoices
  • Creating invoices where necessary
  • Providing reports, including payments due to be made and outstanding debts
  • Managing advanced payment vs cash received
  • Managing overpayments, including chasing payments and contacting the legal team if necessary
About you as the Credit Controller:
  • Manage their time/ prioritise workload and be able to prioritise various matters at any given time
  • Be able to adapt quickly as this is a high pressured, fast-moving environment
  • Quick learner
  • Deal with a high volume of work as well as liaising with internal departments and external Solicitors and bailiffs
  • Strong personality is crucial as a wall flower just wouldnt work in their environment
  • Liaise with various levels of management
  • Think outside the box and raise any possible issues that can be foreseen and share any knowledge with the team
  • Ideally, they should have at least 2+ years pure Credit Control experience
  • Knowledge/ experience of working alongside Solicitors (i.e. the structure of issuing a 7-day letter through to Bankruptcy/ Winding up) would be a bonus, but is not essential
  • Knowledge/ experience in the property industry would be a bonus, but not essential
  • To stand their ground with some tenants and be able to be humble and stay calm as and when required, with others
  • Negotiate payment plans
  • Keep to deadlines
  • Good time keeping
  • Good excel knowledge (basic pivots and lookups, nothing too fancy!)
