Job Description

Role: CAD Design EngineerHours: 8.00am - 4.30pmLocation: DudleySalary: £28,000 - 32,500Benefits: Pension, 25 days holiday plus stats, Bonus of £1,000The Business: Number of Employees: 100Design Team Size: 5With a 30 year trading history, this leading supplier manufactures a complete range of cable management systems.Day to Day duties:

  • Design standard product & variations of standard (solidworks)
  • Design bespoke specials (solidworks)
  • Produce blank form parts to pass through to the Cad/Cam Engineers
  • Create standard shop floor production drawings
  • Create shop floor production drawings for bespoke specials
  • Produce customer drawings requested by BDMs
  • BOMs ( bills of materials ) using company system
  • Liaise with internal & external sales team on current & future orders / projects
  • Be involved in major projects with company project team

  • Self-motivated
  • Be able to work alone & within a team
  • Punctual
Essential Requirements:
  • Experienced & proficient in the use of 3D software Solid Works
  • Engineering & Design background
Advantageous Experience:
  • Experience working with sheet metal
  • Previous experience of working within a manufacturing environment
  • MS office experience
  • Understanding of BOMs ( bills of materials )
  • Experience of using RADAN 2D software ( training will be required if not )
  • A certification in Solid Works Professional
