Job Description

We are working with a local authority in Doncaster to find an Investment Officer.Salary: £37,363 - £41,438 per annumThe role: This role involves working in the economic development unit to lead Business Doncaster’s approach to the development of the retail and leisure sector in Doncaster.Working in conjunction with public and private partners, the postholder is expected to actively contribute towards Council outcomes in relation to generating new inward investment into Doncaster and creating new jobs for Doncaster residents.Key Duties:

  • Leading and maintaining a compelling inward investment strategy for retail and leisure in Doncaster, paying attention to voids across key urban centres and retail parks.
  • Generating major retail and leisure sector specific enquiries through a proactive and systematic process of networking.
  • Providing potential inward investors with a proactive and professional enquiry handling service, co-ordinating the input of internal and external partners as appropriate.
  • Developing and leading a city centre retail and leisure partnership, influencing CEOs and Managers to work together to promote Doncaster as a leading retail and leisure destination and help to bring about the transformational benefits of economic growth
Experiences required:
  • Excellent Communication and team building skills.
  • Experienced in working and delivering outcomes related to inward investment and economic development.
  • Possess significant business development experience.
  • Have a good working knowledge of policy and strategy across the retail and leisure sectors.
  • Experience in delivering internal and external reports building.
  • Influential with good negotiation skills.
