REED Sheffield are recruiting for an Assistive Technology Officer/Heart Responder Support Worker on behalf of Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council. This is a temporary role – initially for 3 months – with scope to be extended. It is a part time role – 26.25 hours per week and pay rate is £10.24 per hour.The job involves ensuring residents within the Doncaster Borough have access to the Home Alarm Service, enabling our most vulnerable client group to remain at home through using various assistive technology equipment, which is installed, maintained, and responded to by Assistive Technology Officers. The role is based at the Mary Woollett Centre.The shifts are on a rota basis – 2 – 10pm on a 3 on, 3 off basis. You will be required to visit service user’s homes to respond to alarm calls, so a full Covid Risk Assessment has been undertaken for this.The main roles and responsibilities are:• To work flexibly on a rota basis to meet the operational demands of the service to ensure that the service can operate 24hrs a day 7 days a week including bank holidays.• To follow safeguarding, moving and handling, health and safety and customer care principles and procedures at all times.• Use of various IT systems to support the installation, maintenance of equipment and responding to the alarm activations.• Following telecare alarm activations, to provide an emergency response in the customers home to establish the status of the customer and act accordingly to findings.• To work independently to install, test, maintain and disconnect assistive technology equipment within customer homes and designated properties.• To liaise with emergency services when appropriate.You will also need moving and handing experience and/or training and Level 2 Health and Social Care or equivalent. You must also have experience of working with adults in a Social Care environment. Knowledge of dementia, health and safety and safeguarding is also required. You need to also be a driver. Training to install the equipment will be provided and it is a simple process to do so.The successful candidate will ideally need an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service and allow REED to complete and compliance and referencing checks on behalf of the client.If you are interested in the role please click on the below link to apply or call to find out more.
