Job Description

You’ll provide support to the Procurement Bid process in order to deliver compliant and accurate bids for all product across Traction and Rolling stock, Infrastructure and Consumables and Fasteners. The role will be responsible for analyzing procurement data to determine costs that will be used for Bids. For any gaps the role will work with Strategic teams to identify sources and costs.Bid Data Analyst Responsibilities:

  • To work with the Business Development Managers and Bid teams to ensure all customer requirements in support of bids is understood, clearly communicated and managed effectively across Procurement
  • To support the function to ensure that Procurement work within the Bids process delivers a quality, accurate bid that meets the customer needs. To ensure any issues are identified and communicated.
  • To provide data analysis across all procurement data (master data, cost management data and plans) to ensure that accurate cost data is maintained that supports the Bid team to prepare and deliver high quality bids to agreed timescales.
  • To support workshops with the Procurement teams to review Bids and agree bid strategies to support the identification of cost down/service improvements
  • To make recommendations to the Head of Operational Procurement to costs that are to be used in bids
  • To agree work with the Procurement teams to improve costs, introduce new parts in support of bids
  • To provide accurate reporting and KPIs to demonstrate accuracy of procurement data and bid performance
  • To work to improve the automation of the bids process
  • To work with the Procurement management team on key projects and activities as required in support of bids and to support the documenting and auditing of the process

    • Bid Data Analyst Requirements:Essential Criteria:
  • Excellent communication, relationship and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to conduct effective meetings and complete follow up actions.
  • Ideally Graduate Calibre or relevant work experience.

  • Ability to analyse data and present information to key stakeholders.
    • Desirable Criteria
  • Project management experience.
  • Operational procurement awareness.
  • Good understanding of the rail market, UK and international.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP & other systems and processes.
  • Recognised procurement professional.
  • Keen to learn all aspects of Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience of working with database, SQL, workbench, UR view.
