We are looking for a Senior Buyer for our client based in Devon. You will lead their electronic products procurement programme. You will have a proven background in purchasing, particularly from the far East, including countries such as China, Taiwan and South Korea. Ideally, you should be able to bring with you existing relationships and knowledge of Chinese manufacturing partners and Western agents. Knowledge and an understanding of the electronic goods manufacturing process and experience in bringing products to market quickly will be advantageous.You will be working for a fast-growing business with a commercial focus and entrepreneurial culture. You will be part of a small team and be expected to think creatively to solve problems and come up with good and viable solutions. Ambiguity and change are the norm and you will be comfortable with setting your own direction and being focused on generating the right results at the right time.What you’ll be doing:You will be required to research and set up new manufacturing partnerships with suppliers in the far East in order to manufacture a new range of home control products destined for markets in the UK and Europe. You will be required to programme manage the procurement of these products from manufacture right through to delivery into the UK & other sales territories. This will involve sourcing, value engineering, contract negotiation, quality control and logistics. You will work with teams in R&D, procurement, manufacturing and marketing as well as specialist agencies and designers who are already involved in the product development process.Your background:
