Job Description

Ref: EDH14481Payroll AssistantDevon - Axminster or Plymouth (hybrid)C. £20,000 - £24,000Our Devon-based client is one of the largest firms of independent chartered accountants in the Southwest. This position is joining an established Payroll team in either Axminster or Plymouth on either a full-time (preferable) or part-time basis.The Responsibilities:* Process payroll data via the payroll software Brightpay connect into comprehensive payroll records.* Issue statements of earnings and deductions meeting strict deadlines.* Reconcile employee deductions.* Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and guidelines. Produce HMRC payments.* Process auto enrolment pensions, loan payments and salary increases.* Process new employees, terminations, transfers and promotions.* Prepare and use Brightpay connect, email and our client portal to create payroll reports of earnings, hours worked, PAYE tax and National Insurance, auto enrolment pension, leave.* Resolve any pay-related concerns and deliver on requests for pay-related documents including statements and verifications.* Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and errors where possible, escalating if necessary to senior management.The Candidate:* CIPP qualified or qualified by experience.* Experience of payroll processing.* Experience within Practice would be desirable.* Technically astute, with good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Brightpay, Xero, Quickbooks and Sage.* Excellent verbal and written communication skills via all means available.* Analytical and methodical with a keen attention to detail.* Organised with the ability to prioritise and meet strict deadlines.* Professional and team orientated in approach, with a friendly and positive attitude.The Benefits:* Full and part-time candidates considered.* Flexible and hybrid or office working available* 20 days annual leave + bank holidays quickly increasing with service* Buy and sell holiday available* Pension scheme increasing with service* Annual salary review* Death in service* Health scheme and medical insurance* Cycle to Work schemeIf you would like to discuss this Payroll Assistant role in more detail, please do reach out to Emma Dudley-Hammatt here at Lloyd Barnes Accountancy Recruitment.
