Job Description

JOB-Manufacturing Process EngineerLOCATION-DevonTERM- PermanentSALARY- £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)My client are a Manufacturing company with operations in 30 different countries, they provide utility solutions to homes around the globe. They are the UK’s largest producer in their field. They are looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to ensure successfulidentification and implementation of best manufacturing practise, help review the suitability for manufacture of new products with regard to process efficiency.The Manufacturing Process Engineer will ideally have the following:

  • HNC / HND or equivalent in an Engineering discipline, as a minimum
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
  • Competent in problem solving, planning and decision making
  • Proven track record in process timing management
  • Experience implementing Manufacturing improvements and Continuous Improvement projects within batch manufacturing businesses
  • Project management experience and a track record of identifying and successfully implementing change
TheManufacturing Process Engineer role will involve:
  • Identify and present ideas for improving operational efficiency.
  • Co-ordinate workplace time sample studies
  • Conduct feasibility studies on continuous improvement ideas generated from within Production and having agreed the priority and gained necessary sign off, implement those projects.
  • Create Value Stream Maps of operational processes.
  • Take ownership of the company’s process time collection and management
  • Ensure adherence in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors .
  • Participate in new product reviews to ensure that only the most production efficient designs are released into production.
  • Participate in Change Request reviews to ensure that the operation timing accuracy is maintained.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all internal stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work as part of the engineering team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in line withquality standards requirements.
  • Work closely with the Lean team to develop and implement of best practices, routines and solutions to improve production rates, Quality and output.
  • Stay current and up to date on any technological changes that may affect manufacturing and advise of any impact.
  • Liaise and communicate with other departments, suppliers and other service providers as and when required.
  • Ensure an effective interface with other departmental staff is maintained.
