Job Description

A great opportunity for a Junior Clerk of Works to join a successful Quantity Surveying and Construction Consultancy in the South West with a wide variety of New Build - Housing projects.The Clerk of Works will join an established, multi-disciplinary construction consultancy specialising in cost management, project management, and CDM.The RoleThe Clerk of Works will undertake regular inspections of construction work to monitor progress and quality.This will include:

  • Verifying compliance with contractual drawings, specifications, warranty standards and employers requirements
  • Working in a live environment with residents
  • Identifying discrepancies
  • Preparing written reports with supporting photographs
  • Liaising with Main Contractors site teams to review and advise on quality management
    • The PersonThe successful Clerk of Works will have:
  • Experience in a similar role (this may include Clerk of Works, an experienced Site Manager, Building Control Surveyor, Technical Inspector for NHBC/BLP/Premier)
  • Sound technical knowledge
  • The ability to work on their own and as part of a team
  • The ability to liaise closely with Building Contractors, reading drawings, issuing site inspection reports and research technical data
  • Proficiency in MS office (Word, Outlook, and preferably Excel)
