Job Description

Seeking a Permanent Electronic Repairs Technician for a leading global organisation inelectronic security, encompassing a number of brands worldwide. Our client are long established with over 5,000 employees and 200 offices spread across the globe. Therole is based in Exeter, with free onsite parking. Their business continues to grow, as they bring new and exciting products and supply chains into the Exeter site, 2022 has some amazing growth strategies for not only fortheir business but also for their people.For the Electronics Repair Technician position it is essential to have electronics fault finding and repair skills experience working in a busy Service and Repair environment, a HNC/HND Electronic qualification is also desirable.Hours are 37.5 hours per week (8.00am4.00pm MondayFriday) and salary is circa of £18-20k depending on skills and experience.On a day to day basis, the role of Repair Technician will involve:

  • Deliver reduced lead times on Repaired products.
  • Repair and fault find all returned products to a defined quality standards, cost effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Assist the Head of Service & Repair by identifying cost reductions across all product lines.
  • Achieve departmental goals and key performance indicator measures.
  • Continually improve quality of manufactured & repaired products.
  • Ensure that Customer requirements are met at all times.
  • Repair all product lines following repair and manufacturing procedures.
  • Ensure all products meet the defined quality standards.
  • Deliver a quick turnaround repair process.
  • Assist in the reduction of Repairs costs and lead times.
  • Facilitate feedback of faults found to relevant parties.
Knowledge and Experience:-
  • Customer focused.
  • Written and verbal Customer communications skills.
  • PC Literate.
  • Awareness of Lean techniques.
  • Experience in fault finding to component level.
  • Experience in volume & pace, quick turnaround busy working environment.
  • Experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Lean qualification.
  • Lean Techniques5S/workplace organization.
  • HNC/HND Electronic qualification desirable.
Although working as a Repair Technician or a Fault Technician would be good experience for this role, if you are electronically minded, with strong soldering skills and used to working in a manufacturing environment then we would be keen to speak to you.Please note that a soldering and colour test will be required for this position before offering due to the components that you will be working with.
