Job Description

Assistant Transport Manager £27,000- £28,000 + Bonus + 33 days Holiday + Pension + ProgressionDevon - Commutable from Honiton, Exeter, Topsham, Seaton, Axminster, Tiverton, Taunton, Yeovil, Sidmouth, ExmouthAre you looking to join a company who will invest in your training, development & progression On offer is the chance to join a growing company in a managment role where youll play an integral part of the management structure and contribute to company growth. The company is a nationwide force in industrial services. They currently have 8 sites across the UK and are consistently growing and maximising profits. They cover all aspects of hazardous waste, specialist recovery, industrial service and continue to maintaincustomer satisfaction and great quality of service. The role will be based in Devon and you will report directly to the Transport Manager. Day to day you will be responsible for Transport operations by providing operational support to the Transport Manager and ensuring compliance with the Companys legal responsibilities.This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing division where you can work on a variety of tasks while maximising your management skills and impacting the success of the company. The role:

  • Schedule & book annual MOTs/ADRs/Tank Tests
  • Monitor driver hours
  • Vehicle maintenance records & gate checks to ensure continued compliance
  • Audit 3rd party maintenance providers
  • Provide vehicle scheduling cover as required
  • Provide cover for the Transport Manager during periods of absence
The person:
  • Previous experience as a Transport Manager with knowledge of Health & Safety / legal legislation / drivers regulations
  • A problem solver & great communicator with excellent customer service skills
  • Keen to learn & develop own knowledge in support of operations & looking for training, development & progression within the management team
