This is band 7 post, however band 6 maybe considered dependent on experience, it is a 12 month fixed term contract of 30 hours per week.The Prosthetics Rehabilitation Service, based in Plymouth is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced HCPC registered Physiotherapist, to join its clinical team to provide cover for upcoming maternity leave.We provide a comprehensive in-house prosthetics rehabilitation service for patients in Plymouth, South West Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The service is based in The Thornberry Centre, a purpose built facility, with full fabrication and support services, you will work in a truly multi-disciplinary environment. A Satelite clinic is held in Camborne Hospital on a weekly basis and the successful applicant will be required to attend this setting periodically.You will have a caseload of new and existing patients with a large degree of autonomy supported by experienced medical and rehabilitation staff and linking closely with community therapy teams.You will work with people of all ages who have undergone lower limb amputation or have lower limb congenital absences, who may present with complex functional, postural and mobility needs, providing specialist assessments to ensure appropriate prosthetic component prescriptions and on-going rehabilitation to achieve the best outcome for the individual. There is the opportunity to work with veterans of the armed forces and the high tech componentry that this often involves, delivering complex rehabilitation specific to the componentry.The role provides an opportunity to work in the area of rehabilitation related to the Child sports prosthesis and Micro Processor Knee funding requiring highly specialist input.Full mandatory training will be provided and you will receive regular clinical/caseload and line management supervision.
