A large charity is recruiting for an Independent Living Support Worker on a temporary contract, to support vulnerable individuals across Plymouth, in their own home, during the current COVID-19 Lockdown.The RoleThe focus of this Independent Living Support Worker role is to provide general housing and wellbeing support and a time limited practical and emotional support service to service users living in their geographical locality typically following a hospital stay to re-enable independent living.The role will involve collecting service users from hospital, but also going out to visit people. You will assist service users with managing and planning of their budgets to maximise their income and also assist in the maintenance of the safety and security of the clients home in accordance with their wishes and their identified needs.The CandidateTo be considered for this Independent Living Support Worker role, you will require the following experience:*Previous support work experience or experience working in hospital environment would be ideal*Knowledge of health and social care*Knowledge of working with vulnerable adults*Awareness of moving and handling*Understanding of what signs of risk at home to look for and how to ask if any are foundDue to the pandemic, it is also essential you meet the following criteria:*Be outside of clinically vulnerable category (70 years or older, pregnant or with named health conditions) due to the type of role *Have manual driving licence for at least 2 years for car insurance purpose*Be 21-year-old or older for car insurance purpose *Understanding of safeguardingAs this role is working with vulnerable people, it is essential that you have a clean DBS, ideally on the update service, and as the role will include cover within other schemes where required, you will need to be a car driver with access to a vehicle for work.The ContractThis Independent Living Support Worker vacancy is a full time role, on an initial 2 month contract and may be extended, depending on the length of the current lockdown.A vehicle is provided and the hourly rate for the role is £11.04 p/h.If you are interested in this position and meet the above criteria, please send you CV now for consideration.Referral BonusIf this Independent Living Support Worker role is not suitable for yourself, but you know someone who may be interested, please pass on their details, or forward these details to them.If they are successful in applying, you will receive a £250 referral bonus upon completion of an initial probationary period.
