Company Bookkeeper - Plymouth - Circa: £25-30,000*Please note that this client may also consider candidates seeking a 4 day working week. Please specify preference at the point of application *Trial Balance Consulting have been engaged by a new client, a very well established and highly reputable construction services business that have enjoyed sustained growth over recent years. They currently seek to recruit an experienced Company Bookkeeperto join them on a permanent basis. The role would typically work over a 5 day working week but there may be an opportunity to opt for part time hours as per the successful candidate’s preference. The successful candidate will be based at the company’s headquartersin the Estover area of Plymouth.This is a pivotal role that report to the business directors and works with colleagues across all areas of the business. The role represents and ideal opportunity for a forward-thinking Bookkeeper to develop and implement improvements to current accountingprocedures and ensure maximum efficiency from the function. Key responsibilities to include:- Administration of accounts payable and receivable- Preparing and administering supplier payment runs- Prepare monthly payroll for onward submission to external payroll service providers- Bank reconciliation- Credit Control- Petty cash- Manage CIS and VAT scheme requirements- Bank reconciliations and petty cash management- Cash flow management- Other administration duties: Employee holiday administration, vehicle servicing documents, CSCS card filing etc.We’re looking for an organised Bookkeeper, ideally (though not essentially), possessing experience gained in the construction industry (with CIS exposure). The successful candidate can be either part/fully AAT or qualified by experience but should possessat least two years’ experience gained in a similar position, ideally using Sage digital platforms. Experience of using JNC Construction Manager would be great but not essential as full training will be offered. The role works within a busy but very friendlyoffice so great communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
