POST:Trained ACC qualified (or equivalent) Clinical CoderLOCATION: Clinical Coding Dept, Level 7, Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, DevonHOURS: 37.5 per WeekSALARY: Band 5 £24,907 - £30,615An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Clinical Coding Department as an ACC Qualified (or equivalent) Clinical Coder at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust (UHP).UHP is a regional specialist teaching hospital working in partnership with the Peninsula School of Medicine and Dentistry and the University of Exeter Medical School. We provide secondary care to a catchment of over 450,000 people with a further 1.5 million having access to our specialist services across the SW Peninsula.Having relevant demonstrable experience and an ACC qualification (or equivalent), you will provide highly accurate clinical coding, have good organisational skills, an eye for detail and accuracy and the ability to work as part of a successful and innovative team.Core duties are the provision of an efficient and high quality clinical coding service, as well as meeting Trust deadlines associated with clinical coding. The role will also require some engagement in validation meetings with clinicians, education of junior clinicians in the importance of co-morbidity recording, building working relationships with service teams and to act as a point of contact for coding issues.We require a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our team.
